The Mistal is a family run vegetarian and vegan friendly cafe on East Chevin opposite the public car parks for Chevin Forest Park. We care about proper food and using the best local and fresh seasonal ingredients. Pop in for a hearty brunch,, light lunch or just a tea or coffee and a pastry or slice of cake. We are dog and muddy boots friendly (ground floor only please) with indoor and outdoor seating.

SATURDAY EVENING SUPPER CLUB

The Saturday evening Mistal Supper Clubs are now on hold. They will resume in January 2024, join our Newsletter for further news.

Each Supper Club offers a themed vegan menu and includes a selection of starters , mains and dessert plates to share, all included in the fixed price. The menus, devised by Chef Oli, vary from night to night. Our drinks list includes a good alcohol-free selection and our wines are organic.

LOCAL SUPPLIERS

Our talented kitchen team led by Head Chef Oli is committed to bringing you hand made vegetarian dishes using fresh and local produce.

We source our dairy which is organically produced from Acorn Dairies (North Yorkshire), free range eggs from Ian Taylor (Harrogate), Charlestown Blend coffee roasted by Casa Espresso (Baildon), pastries and bread from Bakeri Baltzersen (Harrogate) and fruit and veg from local Otley greengrocers Simon & Becky (Boroughgate, Otley).

Our soft drinks range includes a range of delightful flavours from the Steep Soda Co (Manchester) and also LemonAid+

Our cakes are baked and decorated in house in our bakery, we have plenty of vegan cakes on offer too!

We are delighted to welcome Rosie to the Mistal, previously at Sift in Otley, as our new star baker. You won’t want to miss her delicious creations – check out her Lemon & Blueberry beauties below and try not to drool 🙂

Mistal Apple Juice, pressed from our very own apples with varieties including Ribston Pippin, Laxton’s Superb, Annie Elizabeth and Bramley was a big hit last Autumn and we look forward to restocking in a month or two as the applies ripen. Thanks to the Chevin Orchard Project for use of their juicing and bottling equipment.

Also now on sale, Mistal Ice Cream with flavours including Creamy Vanilla and Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt, churned and packed into 125ml tubs on the premises using organic milk from Acorn Dairies.
